Aqua Therapy
6.10.13
Today was Madylin's second session of Aqua Therapy. I was praying that it was going to go better than the first session...
We arrived early to Aqua Therapy and got changed into Mady's bathing suit in
the car. Mady was so happy I wanted to capture this moment in case she
got fussy in the pool. I caught this adorable picture and is actually turns out to be
one of my favorite pictures of Madylin. She looks SO adorable in this
picture and not only that but when I look at this picture I see my
sister Hannah SO much!! I think when Mady was younger I worried when I
or someone else looked at her they would see Down Syndrome. I thought this because one of the things with Down Syndrome is
there are facial features of Down Syndrome. I didn't think Mady would
ever look like her parents. When she was really little people would say
that she looked like Patrick. Neither Patrick OR I saw it. Then when
Mady started smiling at the end of May I thought she reminded me of
someone. Ugh, it drove me crazy. Then one day I saw my sister Hannah. It
made me so happy to see my sister in her because Mady looked like
someone. It wasn't Patrick or I but it was Auntie Hannah. Other people
started seeing it too. This picture is the best match, I think.
"Auntie Hannah Junior!"
Mady's therapist and I tried to gradually get her into the pool. Mady was having fun but as soon as she realized I wasn't holding her she started crying. I panicked because I thought she is never going to want to do this. Her very patient and calm therapist brought her over to the mirror and Mady instantly stopped crying. How could I forget? Mady LOVES looking at herself in the mirror. After a little mirror play her therapist was able to get her working. I was so relieved!!
