Madylin's Baptismal Birthday

One year ago today Madylin was baptized into God's family. Growing up in a Lutheran School and now teaching in a Lutheran School, baptismal birthday's have always been important. I teach my Preschoolers that their Baptismal Birthday is even more special than their actual birthday. This is something that I feel is important to make sure Mady knows as she grows up! We wanted to make Mady's Baptismal Birthday very special! Since she was baptized in April we are hoping that we will always have nice weather and start a tradition of going to the zoo every year. My thinking was that we would enjoy the beautiful weather, nature, and animals that God created!
When we got home from the zoo we lite Mady's Baptismal candle and sang "God's Blessings to You" (tune: "Happy Birthday"). I am excited to have created this tradition! Hopefully this is something that Mady will look forward to as each year we celebrate her being baptized into God's family!
