Today we got to attend LMNOP today at Gigi's Playhouse because we had a doctors appointment. We finally got into a dermatologist from Children's who was going to look at why Madylin is losing her hair. So before the appointment we couldn't resist stopping in at Gigi's for Madylin's favorite LMNOP class. Of course we saw so many of her friends.
Later this day a dermatologist diagnosed Madylin with Alopecia. Alopecia is a type of hair loss when your immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles. Unfortunately their is no cure for this. :( It can be treated but the treatment can be uncomfortable and like Alopecia, it is unpredictable. Madylin could regrow her hair again. She could regrow it and then lose it all again too. We were told it was unpredictable so we don't know what to expect. It is definitely something I wish we didn't have to deal with but she is beautiful with or without hair.
