BOO at the Zoo 10.19.13

BOO at the Zoo
10.19.13

Having a child with Down Syndrome definitely brings a lot of difficulties that most people do not face. I'd be lying if I said that I boldly state I get sick of everything that comes with Down Syndrome. There are weekly therapies, more doctor appointments, more medical problems, but what you don't know about having a child with Down Syndrome is the amazing people you will meet. I have written in this blog before how important my friends from Gigi's Playhouse mean to me but I will never be able to write exactly how much they mean to me. One of my biggest fears when I had Madylin was that I would be alone. No one would understand what I was going through or how to help me. Then I walked into Gigi's Playhouse and my whole world changed, for the better. All these moms that I have met at Gigi's have become so important in my life. I've only known them for a little over a year but it seems like we have been friends for life. We are all different but all share the fact that we love a our child with Down Syndrome. I can never tell you or them how thankful I am to have them in my life. I am never alone and someone always knows what I am going through. We have a close group of moms that we plan play dates and events for. Today some of us met at Brookfield Zoo to check out BOO at the Zoo. I always feel happier when I can be around these families! :) Madylin has more friends than I would have even imagined and she gave me these new friends too.
If you are wondering why Lizette is holding Madylin and not me it is because this wolf absolutely creeped me out and I refused to go near it!!
